ISPAT COLLEGE, ROURKELA, one of the premier undergraduate college is affiliated to Sambalpur University. Since its inception on 6th September 1978 with the cherished goal of imparting quality education, the college has proved its mettle over the years. Apart from being listed under 2F and 12(B) of the UGC Act, it has the distinction of being accredited by NAAC as a ‘B’ grade college with a score of 71.5. Situated amidst verdant greenery on the banks of river Koel, it provides an ambience to education.

Started with a modest strength of 430 students at the Intermediate stage, It became a full fledged degree college in 1980 having all the streams viz. Arts, Science & Commerce. Apart from the pass courses, honours courses in English, History, Political Science, Economics, Hindi, Oriya, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology and Commerce are available. The Govt. of Orissa has given permission for opening of BBA courses under self financing and requisite formalities have been completed to start the course from the session 2009-10. Keeping pace with the requirement of the times, UGC has also approved opening of skill-oriented course (Retail Management) from the session 2009-10.
